You often feel stressed and tired at work

Do you dread going to work every day?  Are you not sleeping well because of this? Have your moods changed?  Are you becoming ill with coughs and colds?  You may be feeling stressed and your immune system is low and therefore may be affecting how you perform at work.

You do not enjoy being at the nursery like you used to

When you first started working at the nursery you were happy and excited but this may well have now changed.  Your change in feelings may be due to the nursery being taken over by another company, there may be a change in Management who have implemented changes which you may not understand or even agree with.

You can not wait to go home

You used to wake up in the morning excited about what you might achieve during the day ahead. You may have stayed later at work without resenting it or started earlier.  This has now changed and you are watching the clock until the time you can leave.

Your skills do not match up to your personal interests

Sometimes people get hired for things they’re really good at but don’t necessarily especially like doing. Perhaps you’re skilled and had knowledge with safeguarding and was made lead safeguarding officer but would have preferred to work as a SEN. Maybe now that you are working in the nursery you would now like to be promoted but there are no opportunities.

Though it’s not always easy to make it happen, it’s natural to want to align your personal interests with your career activity – and the longer you leave it, the harder it is to switch as you become more and more specialised in a field that you don’t feel is really you.

Steve Jobs once said, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.”

You feel invisible and not respected

Do you feel that your opinions and contributions are not being listened to? You may have been overlooked for a promotion or others in your team are getting the credit for things you have previously suggested. Maybe you are no longer on good terms with certain people who you work with.

Where you work you spend so many hours of the day you need to feel happy and have great relationships with the team you work with.
